Cathay Pacific invites Lankan students to experience S.Africa
wilderness
APPLICATIONS: Cathay Pacific Airways Colombo opened application for
two students from Sri Lanka to participate in the International
Wilderness Experience (IWE) 2007, which will take place in South Africa
from July 10 to 18.
Successful applicants will enjoy an enriching experience that will
make them more aware of global environmental issues and at the same time
increase their understanding of different cultures.
Cathay Pacific will fly 50 students between the ages of 16-18 from
different countries in Asia Pacific region, such as Sri Lanka, Hong
Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and
Pakistan to Johannesburg, South Africa to participate in this
educultural safari.
This is the second time Cathay Pacific has extended this offer to
local students and is considered as part of the airline’s community
service program, Cathay Pacific Airways is giving this opportunity to
Sri Lankan students, along with co-sponsor James Finlay and Co. Colombo,
the General Sales Agent for Cathay Pacific.
The student ambassadors will have their air tickets, accommodation,
course fees and ground transport in South Africa sponsored by Cathay
Pacific while having to fund their travel insurance and pre-departure
preparations for a nominal fee.

The short-listed Sri Lankan applicants will be called for interviews
during this month. |
