ONLINE BANKING: People’s Bank takes another innovative step in its
drive towards strengthening its business-responsive IT culture, built on
an ‘anytime anywhere anyhow service’, by introducing Sri Lanka’s first
ever location independent online branch.
The bank now offers a complete range of banking services not
restricted to branch locations, or to areas with traditional data
communication infrastructures.
With this unique online mobile branch, which is also known as a
mobile counters service, customers can make their financial transactions
electronically from any place. It has been equipped to perform many of
the banking transactions usually carried out within bank premises,
without the wait and the restriction of banking hours.
The services on offer include Account opening; Cash deposits and
withdrawals; All possible transactions for savings, current accounts,
loans and FDs; Balance enquiries of bank accounts; Inter branch
transactions (transfer funds); Receive reference information (foreign
exchange rates, bank properties, etc.); Keep track of payment documents,
bank statements and foreign exchange rates; Passbook updation, Statement
printing; and All pawning transactions (except redemptions).
