Four hundred computers per day from Panora

NEW VENTURE: Panora branded computers have opened a mass-manufacturing unit at Mattakkuliya with a manufacturing capacity of 12000 pieces per month. That is 400 computers per day in 24 hour labour hours, Head of Marketing, Panora Corporation, Rizwan Anise said. The company’s present marketing capacity is 10000 pieces per month.

This will be achieved on a three shift based labour consumption of 100 skilled employees. ‘We are planning to achieve the total manufacturing target in three months’, he said.

Panora is a brand built in Sri Lanka with local expertise. We import the accessories from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and we use local skills to manufacture our brand.

Through this we can provide a quality branded product to the market on an economical cost. That’s why we have already tapped 45 per cent, of the existing hardware market that is the desktop PC market of Sri Lanka in a short period of time.

Our expertise enhances us to omit the unnecessary overhead costs for the advantage of Sri Lanka consumers, Chairman, Panora Corporation, S. H. M. Rishan said.

There are guidelines to be followed by a company to build a brand name. We have obtained various standard certificates apart from that. ISO9001, ISO 2000, ISO 14001 for environment, certificate of energy star and Microsoft certificate are the standard certificates we have already acquired, Rizwan said.

Panora has already entered the global market by having channel partners in Maldives and Bangladesh. It’s also planning to identify another seven global channels in a short period of time. This will enhance a foreign exchange inflow to the country, he said.

Sampath Bank, Commercial Bank, Ceylinco Group and HNB Assurance are some of the corporate companies Panora serves. There are some public sector organisations and some individuals are also included in its total market, Rishan said.
