Enoka Sathyangani withdraws case filed against Lake House

COLOMBO: Film directress Enoka Sathyangani withdrew the case filed against Lake House when it came up before Colombo District Judge Aruna C. Ranasinghe yesterday.

Attorney-at-Law from D.M. Swaminathan Associates informed the Court that they have received instructions from Sathyangani to withdraw the case and accordingly the case was dismissed by the District Judge.

Sathyangani filed the case alleging that the news items in the Dinamina, Daily News and Silumina regarding the using of a child by her for a UNP political advertisement and the complaint made by the child’s mother to the National Child Protection Authority is defamatory of her and claimed Rs. 250 million as damages.

Attorney-at-Law- M.U.M. Ali Sabry appeared with Attorneys-at-Law Mohan Rupesinghe and Lakshitha Jaywardena instructed by Attorney-at-Law Renuka Thenuwara for Lake House.
