Military chiefs brief field commanders

COLOMBO: Field Commanders now successfully consolidating their cleared positions in the East on yesterday gave a patient hearing to the military top brass at Pulukunawa STF base.

Chief of Defence Staff Air Marshal Donald Perera, Army Commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka in the company of Commander, 23 Division Commander Brigadier Daya Rathnayaka attended this specially convened conference.

Field commanders gave detailed feedback to the visiting military chiefs and briefed them on the ground realities.

Visiting military chief assessed the progress hitherto made by the Security Forces, civil authorities and discussed ways at means to make the situation further better with enhanced coordination of the State relief services etc. to displaced civilians.
