Suspects who forged President's signature to be indicted

COLOMBO: The CID informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate
and District Judge Mohammed Irashadeen that the Attorney General has
decided to indict two suspects who had allegedly forged the signature of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa to obtain employment.
The CID informed the Magistrate that the Attorney General has advised
the CID to file indictment at Colombo High Court against the two
suspects who allegedly forged the President's signature.
The CID told Court that they would conduct further inquiries on the
matter and requested the Magistrate to issue an order to compel the
suspects to be present when they are required by the CID for inquiries.
The two suspects Matthew Roshan and Sisil Sachinthaka was produced
before the Magistrate along with a letter bearing the forged signature
of the President to the Prison Department to recommending their
appointment as Jailers.
Considering the facts Colombo Additional Magistrate and District
Judge Mohammed Irashadeen issued a directive to the CID to submit a copy
of the written advise of the Attorney General so that he could make an
order and issued the order to the two suspects to appear before the
court on May 15. |
