Workshop on Sinhala Cinema industry
COLOMBO:Several workshops on the Sinhala cinema industry for the
benefit of schoolchildren will be held in several parts of the country
to coincide with the 31st Sarasaviya Film Festival on April 5.
These workshops will help to enhance the knowledge on the film
industry among schoolchildren and adults showing interest in this area.
Along with the workshops there will be the screening of films. Steps
have been taken to screen the films Anjalika, Sulanga, Herunda Pakshiya,
Nilambare and Hiripoda Wessa in Kurunegala from March 14 to 18 as part
of the Sarasaviya Film Festival.
Today the Sinhala film Anjalika will be screened at Imperial Theatre,
Kurunegala at 6 p.m. Mass Media and Communication Minister Anura
Priyadharshana Yapa will be the chief guest.
Anjalika directed by Channa Perera and produced by Malith Palliyaguru.
Sarasaviya Film Festival in Matara will be marked on March 21, at New
Cinema Hall and at Regal Cinema Hall on March 22, in Kandy.
Sarasaviya popular film week will begin on March 26 at the Regal
Cinema Hall in Colombo and the Awards ceremony will take place on April
5 at the BMICH. People’s Bank has joined hands to sponsor the event.
