FM to meet top US officials
COLOMBO: Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama left for Washington and
New York on Monday.
Bogollagama will have talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and
UN Under Secretary Generals for Political Affairs, Humanitarian Affairs,
the UNDP administrator and the UNICEF Executive Director.
During his visit, the Minister will meet Secretary of State USA
Condoleezza Rice and several congressmen in Washington and will brief
the US Government on the steps taken by the Sri Lankan Government to
solve issues in the country.
The Minister is also due to hold a press conference and meet leading
media personnel in Washington. Bogollagama will make a presentations on
the peace process in Sri Lanka at the Centre for Strategic and
International Studies and address officials of the Sri Lanka
Associations in New York, Washington and Maryland. |
