Tivanka Wickramasinghe trust boon for juniors

COLOMBO: The Tivanka Wickramasinghe Trust Fund has assisted many juniors, particularly from the outstations, in their pursuit of knowledge, skills and experience, a cause to which Wickramasinghe was deeply committed.

Wickramasinghe is the only member of the legal profession, in whose memory the BASL has a Trust Fund.

The Fund recently granted several scholarships for Junior Outstation participants at the First (Sinhala Medium) National Law Conference organised by the Neethiya Foundation.

Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva, PC delivered the late President's Counsel Tivanka Wickramasinghe Oration on Civil Appellate High Court Jurisdiction at the auditorium of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) yesterday.

The event was organised by the BASL assisted by the President's Counsel Tivanka Wickramasinghe Trust Fund in memory of Wickramasinghe.

BASL President Nihal Jayamanne, PC, Secretary Sunil Abeyratne, Treasurer Ramani de Silva and Assistant Secretary Dilushi Wickramasinghe were at the head table with the Chief Justice.

Wickramasinghe's daughter, Dilushi who is the BASL Assistant Secretary is the Trust Fund's Trustee.
