More civilians reach cleared areas

BATTICALOA: Around 777 families comprising 3,638 civilians arrived from the uncleared areas of Vavunathivu and Siththandy after fleeing the iron grip of the LTTE to cleared areas on Wednesday, the Media Centre for the National Security (MCNS) said.

According to a spokesman for the MCNS since January 23, 3,219 families sought protection in areas under the control of the Security Forces.
