Karunaratne Paranavithana clarifies

UK: Karunaratne Paranavithana in a statement issued on March 6 said:

“I wish to issue a clarification regarding a rumour currently being spread dragging my name into it.

I am presently studying for the M.A. degree at the Bradford University in England. I came to understand that a group of people are spreading a rumour saying that I am functioning as Secretary of a newly set up political party in Sri Lanka called the ‘Jathika Sabhawa’.

I feel that a report published in the media recently which said that one Karunaratne Methsiri Paranavithana is functioning as the Secretary of the aforesaid political party may have been used as the basis to spread this rumour.

In this regard I wish to state that except for the SLFP to which I belong I have no connection whatsoever with any other political party or organisation. Furthermore “Methsiri’ is not part of my name.
