Fifty estate hospitals to be developed

BADULLA:The Health Care and Nutrition Ministry has decided to take
over fifty estate hospitals and develop them under the Mahinda Chinthana
programme. Development work of twenty hospitals in the Central and
Sabaragamuwa Provinces were completed last year and twenty hospitals in
the Badulla district and Sabaragamuwa Province will be developed this
year.
The vacancies prevailing for midwives in Ugaland, Neluwa, Welimada
Group, Kinalan, Bingarawa, Springveli, Makanda, Gilan, Adawatta, Bibile,
Denaria A and B, Rockatenna, Solan, Pattawatta, Galkanda, Uwakele and
Robary estate hospitals will be filled shortly, Deputy Health Care and
Nutritional Minister Vadivel Suresh said.
The midwives being appointed to a particular estate hospital should
be residents of that respective area. The recruitment of midwives and
training will commence shortly under a special programme. |
