 President Mahinda Rajapaksa returned to the country yesterday after a very successful State visit to China, opening a new chapter in China-Sri Lanka friendship which began 50 years ago with the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. China pledges greater market access for Lankan exports

CHINA expressed its readiness to continue with its assistance for Sri Lanka’s economic and social development to the best of its ability and pledged to encourage greater market access to Lanka’s exports in China to reduce Sri Lanka’s present trade deficit.

The interrogation of the two Black Tigers- the suicide bombers arrested by the Tamil Nadu police has revealed that they have had the traditional meal with the LTTE leader Prabhakaran before they set on a journey of suicide mission to blow up the Kankesenturai Harbour.
