Air Force jets pound LTTE targets

BATTICALOA: Air Force MIG27 jet planes pounded identified LTTE targets in Thoppigala last morning causing heavy damage to Tiger cadres, the Media Centre for the National Security (MCNS) said.

According to an MCNS spokesman, Air Force jet planes bombarded an LTTE gathering point in Thoppigala at around 11.15 a.m. Defeated LTTE cadres in Vakarai are fleeing to Thoppigala areas. The target was destroyed after close surveillance, he added.
