Minister promises to stop political interferences in divisional administration

COLOMBO: Political interferences in the Divisional Administration will be totally eradicated, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister Karu Jayasuriya said speaking at a conference for Divisional Secretaries at New Town Hall yesterday.

The Minister also stressed the need of executing duties without satisfying any political desires.

He recalled the recent action he had taken to a complaint by a Secretary in connection with an incident. “As politicians, we must create good working atmosphere for administration” Jayasuriya said.

He pointed out that no efforts could be successful without a disciplined and service oriented staff.

Home Affairs Minister Chandrasiri Gajadheera, Ministry Secretary D. Disanayake, Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration Director T.M.K.B. Tennakoon and Consultant H.M.B.P. Herath also spoke.
