Crocodile tears and mud slinging will not help Mangala, Sripathi
COLOMBO: It is time for Sripathi Sooriyarachchi and Mangala
Samaraweera to stop their mud slinging campaign without making
themselves comic heroes of Sri Lanka, a senior government politician
said yesterday.
He said: “They should stop shedding crocodile tears and get on with
their lives. People are no fools. They can see how they have got
together with certain people who have ridiculed them and insulted them
in the past. If they got any shame left they would not stoop to such low
levels.”
“Sripathy and Mangala are providing entertainment daily through some
newspapers and popping out of some television channels. We find it
hilarious and we are surprised why their so called ‘friends’ are not
advising them not to be the laughing stock.
Having tried to ridicule the Forces, the leaders and the masses they
have become the laughing stock,” said the senior politician.
He warned that Mangala and Sripathi should protect themselves from
their ‘new found’ friends and concentrate on other issues and not be
misled by interested parties.
“They should not let themselves be taken for a ride or on some merry
go round,” the senior politician added. “It is still not too late for
them to correct their mistakes.”
“Unlike many others President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a practising
Buddhist and I am sure he is prepared to forgive them once they correct
their mistakes,” he also said. |
