Full probe into death threats case
COLOMBO: President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered a full
investigation on Minister Anura Bandaranaike’s complaint that he had
received deaths threats, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told the media
yesterday.
“We will do everything possible to find the perpetrators. There will
be a full inquiry,” Minister de Silva said.
He said it was routine for politicians to receive threatening calls
and SMSes and most ministers and politicians were travelling with utmost
care as the LTTE could be targeting them for assassination.
“We really don’t care about these threats against us. Our political
rivals could be doing this type of work to tarnish the party’s image.
However, there will be a complete probe into the threats received by
Minister Bandaranaike,” he added. |
