JVP member arrested for assaulting PC minister

KURUNEGALA: The Kurunegala Magistrate remanded the JVP
Provincial Council Member S. A. Ranasinghe who was charged with
assaulting Provincial Council Minister of Land, Irrigation and Livestock
R. D. Wimaladasa in the PC premises on February 6.
PC Minister Wimaladasa is still receiving treatment in Kurunegala
teaching hospital.
Investigations are conducted by a special police team led by SSP
Jayawardana.
The alleged JVP Councillor was remanded till February 12. |
