SLT connects LakSathosa chain to single IP network
CONNECTIVITY: Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), has designed and implemented
an integrated communication solution to LakSathosa, where all branches
even in the most remote areas of the country are connected to LakSathosa
branch network.
SLTs communication solution enables both data and voice services to
all branches.
The solution encompasses a PABX which is used centrally to channel
all the voice calls while data connectivity will ensure that all stock
movements and employee interactions can be monitored and administered
centrally.
Customers across the island shopping with LakSathosa now have access
to the best prices for their commodity purchases and shop with a retail
chain that is networked across the island providing faster and
dependable service across all 50 outlets operational at present.
The current solution connects all 50 operational outlets, with the
ability to connect all new outlets to the network at minimal cost.
Centrally connectivity is limited to a new port being defined in the
LakSathosa network, thereby creating a scalable network which is ideal
for a growing organisation such as LakSathosa.
SLTs Intelligent Solutions deliver next-generation communication with
a number of key technologies and platforms in areas such as data, voice
and networking.
These services are supported by a high-tech MPLS (Multi Protocol
Label Switching) based IP backbone built on SLTs islandwide optical
fibre ring network.
Chairman of LakSathosa Nihal Jayawardena and Chief Executive Officer
of Sri Lanka Telecom Shuhel Anan exchanged agreements on behalf of the
two organisations. |
