Uresha Madhubhashini 15 of 5th Mile Post, Navasirigama, Rajanganaya is
deaf and dumb by birth. Consultant ENT Surgeon Dr. Devanand Jha of
Apollo Hospital has recommended a Cochlear Implant to restore her speech
and hearing.
The surgery is estimated to cost Rs. 2.3 million to Rs. 2.8 million
depending on the model of Cochlear Implant used. He says his parents are
unable to foot this bill and seek public assistance to help expedite the
surgery.
Contributions should be remitted to A/C number 4982026 at the Bank of
Ceylon, Tambuttegama Branch.

COLOMBO: Baby Avindi
Weerasinghe, 2, is suffering from a severe hearing defect and has been
recommended a cochlear implant operation which is estimated to cost
around Rs. 2.3 - 2.8 million.
The Sri Lanka Navy where her father is employed has donated Rs. 9
lakhs and the President Fund has agreed to grant Rs. 3 lakhs for her
cause.
The parents seek public assistance to meet the balance amount.

Shantha of Soorigoda, Bentota is suffering from a kidney failure and has
been recommended an urgent kidney transplant to save his life.
The surgery is estimated to cost Rs. 200,000. His parents say they
are unable to foot this bill and seek public assistance. Contributions
