Nepal to commence direct flights to Colombo

Nepal: The Nepal Cabinet has made a decision to commence four direct
flights to Colombo from Kathmandu soon. The decision has announced by
the State Information and Communications Minister of Nepal Dilendra
Prasad Badu during the Cabinet press briefing on yesterday.
This decision will be a big relief for the Sri Lankan Buddhist
pilgrims who travel to Kathmandu via other countries spending thousands
of Rupees to worship Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. At the
moment, the pilgrims pay a large amount of money for the air tickets to
travel to kathmandu via other destinations because there are no direct
flights to kathmandu from Colombo.
The commencement of direct flights to Colombo from Kathmandu will
promote tourism in Sri Lanka and Nepal while giving a chance to worship
Lumbini for the ordinary Sri Lankan Buddhists who have little money. |
