North Korea threatens to quit ASEAN forum if missile tests condemned
MALAYSIA: North Korea's foreign minister on Friday threatened
to quit the Associaton of Southeast Asian Nations' Regional Forum if the
organization adopts a joint statement condeming the communist regime's
missile tests, South Korea's news agency reported.
"The U.S. conducts joint military drills with South Korea, and
deploys weapons targeting North Korea. Is it legitimate? If we do so, is
it illicit?" Yonhap quoted Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun as saying.
The news agency said the minister threatened to quit the ASEAN
Regional Forum if the grouping issues a joint statement denouncing North
Korea's recent missile tests.
The report did not say where Paek was speaking or to whom.
