Schools hockey squad for Malaysia picked

HOCKEY: The 18 member hockey pool which was selected for the
3rd Asian Schools Boys Hockey Tournament which is to be bully-off from
September 7-14 in Malaysia includes six players from Kandy. The trials
were conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association recently at
the Nandimithra Ekanayake Hockey Stadium, Matale, with 91 players from
the all districts.
The team consists of highly talented players and are expected to give
the other Asian countries a stiff contest.

Mal Dias (Ananda College) , Milinda Sapugasgodage (Vijaya College,
Matale), Lahiru Weerasooriya (Christ Church, Matale), M. Bandaranayake (Vijaya
College), P. Puspitha Weerakkodi (St. Thomas College), Ranjana Wijeratne
(Ananda College), M. M. Mulapa (Kingswood College), Vimukti Dharshana (Nalanda
College), M. J. M. Imraan (Isipathana College), R. S. Nanda Lochana
(Christ Church), J. I. Vitanage (Trinity College).

The captain is yet to be announced. The team leaves for Malaysia with
