SLBFE mobile service at Tissa

TISSAMAHARAMA: The second mobile service of the Sri Lanka Bureau of
Foreign Employment (SLBFE) will be held at Tissamaharama, Debarawewa
Janadhipathi Vidyalaya today, at 9.30 a.m, under the patronage of Labour
Affairs and Foreign Minister Athauda Seneviratne and Agriculture
Development Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.
The main aim of this mobile service is to provide employment for
foreign job seekers and look into the welfare of the families of migrant
workers.
Services such as obtaining Passports, National Identity Cards and all
other activities of the SLBFE are available at this mobile service.
18 Local Councils shine

COLOMBO: Eighteen Local Councils which won the National Level Local
Government Management Competition conducted by the Local Government
Ministry won Swarnapurawara awards and certificates.
The competition was held for 2002, 2003 and 2004 and the award
ceremony was held to coincide with the Local Government Week - 2006 at
the BMICH recently.
Local Government and Provincial Council Minister Janaka Bandara
Tennakoon distributed awards.
Kurunegala Municipal Council, Hatton Dikoya Urban Council and Matara
Pradeshiya Sabha were selected the best local authorities for 2002.
Anuradhapura Municipal Council, Kegalle Urban Council and Bandarawela
Pradeshiya Sabha were selected as best city councils for 2003 and Nuwara
Eliya Municipal Council and Seethawakapura Urban Council won awards for
best city councils in 2004.
School textbooks distribution for 2007
COLOMBO:The Education Publications Department has made arrangements
to supply school textbooks for 2007 without delay.
The books will be given to all students before the December school
vacation, an Education Ministry release said.
The distribution of school textbooks for 2007 will commence on August
17, 2006 at 10.00 a.m. at the Department's Deen's Road Stores with the
participation of Education Minister Susil Premajayantha.
The Department is also planning to send eight lorries with school
textbooks to eight districts. |
