Unity and harmony prerequisite for peace

WATTALA: Presidential Advisor on Parliamentary Affairs, A.H.M. Azwer said that the Unity and National Harmony were pre-requisites to ushering an era of peace in our country.

He was speaking at the opening of a Computer Centre at the UNH-International School, Wattala on Monday.

Schoolchildren too could play an important role in helping President Rajapaksa to achieve peace and harmony, so that the facilities available to obtain proper education for them will not be denied, he said.

Azwer said the name UNH-International School signifies Unity and National Harmony. Therefore the children of the school could join million of others in this country to pray the Almighty to bring National Unity, Harmony and Peace to our motherland.

A guard of honour was accorded to him by the students of the College.

Principal Fouzul Nihar Mahir, the members of Board of Directors welcomed teachers participated. Al Haj Moulavi Abul Cassim, Pesh Imam of Battaramulla Mosque recited a special Du'a and blessed the function.
