This tree planting project will be launched at Revatha Maha Vidyalaya, Madatugam in Kekirawa, Dambulla, Anurdhapura Road. This is also an educational and environmental programme for the schoolchildren.

Ceylinco Securities Group Manager Brian Amunugama is co-odinating the project.

CS & FS Group Deputy Chairman Bandula Ranaweera emphasised that the child will learn to monitor the growth of a plant which is allocated to him and he will take care to water and study the plant. Thereafter the student will lookafter the plant. Each child is given a format sheet to study and record the growth of the tree.

This will help the child to learn more about the plant and it will be a project for the child in his studies. It will be an educational program and the child will learn to love and care the nature. It is the first time in Sri Lanka this type of educational program will be launched.

In the long run this programme will help build the hearts and minds of the children, the Deputy Chairman added. The entire cost will be borne by the CS & FS group.

Deputy Chairman Bandula Ranaweera, Executive Director Bede Fernando, Education Department Kekirawa Zone Director Vincent Jayasuriya and Sri Revatha Maha Vidyalaya Principal R.M. Ariyaratne are assisting in the project.
