No bird flu in Anuradhapura, says Hospital Director

ANURADHAPURA: There is no truth in the rumour about bird flu in Anuradhapura, Dr. Lakshman Gamlath, Director of Base Hospital, Anuradhapura said.

The rumour about a person affected with bird flu being admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital is false, the doctor told the Daily News.

He said there was no bird flu threat in Sri Lanka and there was no reason to panic.

"The people need not have unnecessary fear in consuming eggs and poultry products," he said.
