THE UNP has said that jobs given to the graduates would be terminated when they came into power. There is no reason whatsoever to have any fear as the UNP will never come into power, said Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake.

The Chief Minister made these observations at the handing over of permanent appointments to 4053 graduates recruited to public service in the Province under the Government's programme of providing jobs to 40,000 graduates at Mahamaya College Auditorium, Kandy. No one could be able to touch these appointments.

Therefore, the future of these new recruits would be bright and secure, he added. In fulfilling a promises given by the government, steps were taken to provide jobs to all unemployed graduates, despite various obstacles they implemented that project." he said.

Sending children to schools had been made compulsory. Those who have got jobs should be prepared to make productive the government's investments in the education" The Chief Minister said.
