Colombo Super League cager tourney begins

The Annual Colombo Super League Basketball Tournament conducted by the Colombo District Basketball Association (CDBA) commenced on October 20 and will be played until December 10, 2005.

This prestigious and premier basketball tournament will be conducted on a league basis and will be played at the Depot Police Courts, Amal International School, Otter Aquatic Club Courts and St. Joseph's Girls School, Nugegoda.

33 teams have registered for participation in this year's tournament. It will be conducted in three groups for the men's and two for the women's. New entrants to the Men's 'A' Division is Otter Aquatic Club.

Colombo Basketball Club won last year's championship in the 'A' Division beating Wattala BC while Colombo Bulls won the consolation final. The Women's Championship was won by Track Masters with Hatton National Bank ending up as runners-up.
