CSE Road Show kicks off in Melbourne

The Road show In Australia and New Zealand organized by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) commenced yesterday at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne.

The investor forums are organized in association with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), Colombo Stock Brokers Association and the AusLanka Business Council. The event targeted at the Sri Lankan community attracted over 200 participants to the investor forum.

A strong forty-member contingent representing the stock Broking industry showcased the CSE. The contingent was led by the Chairman of the CSE and included the Director General and officials of the CSE, Chairman Eraj Wijesinghe, and officials of the SEC, Chief Executive Officers, research analysts and investment advisers of Broking firms and Trading members.

The CSE Chairman in his opening address invited Sri Lankans in Australia to invest in Colombo outlining the exciting performance of the Colombo stock market.

Dr. Dayanth Jayasuriya chairman of the SEC of Sri Lanka spoke on the regulatory structure of the capital market in Lanka. The three key presentations were made by a 3-member team of analysts from Colombo. Hasitha Premaratne of HNB Stock Brokers spoke on the resilient Economy outlining the political and economic situation in the country.

Angelo Ranasinghe of Bartleet Mallory Stockbrokers analyzed the re emergence of the Colombo Stock market to become the best performing stock market in Asia. Chintahka Ranasinghe, of John Keells Stockbrokers, analyzed the potential of the Colombo Market.

The second seminar will be held on 25th October in the Dandenong area in Melbourne.
