Kiwis 49/0 in one hour of play
Only one hour's of play was possible due to bad weather on the
opening day of the third and final 4 day unofficial test match between
the touring New Zealand 'A' team and Sri Lanka 'A' team which began at
the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.
New Zealand 'A' who were put into bat after the start of play was
delayed until 1.45 p.m due to overnight rain reachd 49 for no loss
before a heavy shower once again put an end to the day's proceedings at
around 2.43 p.m.
Sri Lanka 'A' who are trailing 0-1 in the series failed to get an
early break through with the New Zealand openers Michael Papps and Jimmy
