Sanasa Bank links with Suntel to provide CDMA phones

Shirantha Perera (Channel Operations Manager Suntel), Ashley De Silva (General Manager Business Sales and Retail Suntel), Mohan Villavarayan (Director Finance and Administration Suntel), Jerry Huxatable (Managing Director Suntel), T. A. Gajaba (General Manager Sanasa Development Bank Ltd), Nimal J.B. Mamaduwa (Deputy General Manager - Sanasa Development Bank Ltd)at the Suntel, Sanasa Bank tie up.

Suntel, has signed an agreement with Sanasa Development Bank (SDBL) under which Sanasa customers will be granted loans to purchase Suntel CDMA telephones.

The affordable option enables Sanasa customers to empower themselves with access to the convenience of telecommunications.

Under the agreement, a Sanasa customer wishing to purchase a CDMA telephone from any Suntel Branch, can avail himself of a special loan facility arranged through Sanasa Development Bank. The loan is available to both existing and new customers of Sanasa.

This agreement will enable Suntel to realise its vision of making telecommunications accessible to all Sri Lankans by providing a telephone to every home.

The power of telecommunications as a powerful business tool cannot be doubted - and we trust that many of the Sanasa customers availing themselves of this opportunity will be able to maximise the potential of telecommunications."

Sanasa Development Bank has a large customer base, made primarily of individuals living in rural areas and have little or no access to telecommunications. CDMA technology removes infrastructure obstacles to telephony as it is a simple wireless "plug and talk" unit.

The CDMA units are of ideal value to rural customers such as the Sanasa members, because of the affordability and mobility and vast coverage they offer.
