Green movement expresses sympathy

THE Green Movement of Sri Lanka has conveyed its sympathy to the Government and the people of the USA following the devastation caused by hurricane 'Katrina' which hit the states of Mississippi and Louisiana.

We - the team members of the Green Movement of Sri Lanka express our sadness at the enormity of the disaster and loss of life and complicated to communities.

Having experienced the ferocity of nature ourselves during the December 26th tsunami, we fully empathize with you at this hour of national grief, GMSL chief organiser Suranjan Kodituwakku said in his message.

We recall with gratitude the spontaneous US response in the wake of the Indian Ocean tsunami. We take this opportunity to appreciate the commitment and assistance by the US Army and the volunteers who helped the communities in Sri Lanka soon after the tsunami.

Apart from that the profound condolences on behalf of the 144 network members of the Green Movement of Sri Lanka to the families who have lost their loved ones and articulated solidarity with the victims.
