Tsunami victims' demo at MC
 

A GROUP of tsunami victims in the Hambantota Electorate demonstrated opposite the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon demanding legal action against delays in providing rehabilitation relief.

The demonstrators carried placards stating that funds from various sources are lying in bank accounts while tsunami victims are languishing in refugee camps under untold difficulties.

Attorney Sujeewa Senasinghe, UNP Kaduwela Organiser, handed over a letter to the Attorney-General signed by UNP Deputy General Secretary Tissa Attanayake yesterday.

The letter handed over to the Attorney-General by Senasinghe demanded early action in connection with the inquiry into the 'Helping Hambantota Tsunami Relief Fund'.

The demonstrators dispersed after handing over the letter to the Attorney-General.
