Over 5000 people benefit from Women's Empowerment Ministry mobile
service

Over 5000 people obtained different services from the two-day mobile
service conducted by the Women's Empowerment and Social Welfare Ministry
at Sevanagala Maha Vidyalaya, a ministry spokesman said.
He said that the ministry provided wheel chairs, tricycles, clutches,
educational equipment to schoolchildren, nutrition kits for pre-schools,
special identity cards for elders, Social Security Board deeds and
benefits, welfare kits for welfare centres and a large number of
spectacles for the needy people. Rice and date provided for about 2000
families take part in 'Food for Work' program.
Western and Ayurvedic clinics were also held during the two-day
mobile service. National Identity Cards were also provided. A health and
social welfare advisory and training program was also held. A FM radio
broadcast, Uva Wellassa Community FM was on the air during the mobile
service with the assistance of the media unit of the Sevanagala Maha
Vidyalaya, Health Bureau and Sevanagala Sugar Company.
