People's bank to announce Sisu Udana Vishishtayo award winners today

People's Bank will announce the names of the 14 Sisu Udana Vishishtayo national award winners today at an awards ceremony to be held at the BMICH in Colombo.

The award winners, selected from the 130 district winners, will receive their awards at the felicitation ceremony which is scheduled to be held tomorrow.

130 profoundly talented youngsters from schools islandwide will also receive awards in recognition of their achievements in sports, drama, music, oratory, art, environment conservation and technology / computer software fields.

People's Bank Sisu Udana Vishishtayo awards ceremony recognising the "Best of the Best" will bring together students from all nationalities and religions. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, will be the chief guest while Dr. Sarath Amunugama will be the guest of honour on this occasion.

A host of senior officials and dignitaries of the State Sector and Education System of Sri Lanka together with the 9 National and 145 District judges who selected the winners will also be present on this occasion.

All winners will receive attractive trophies, certificates and cash awards in recognition of their outstanding talents and capabilities. Acknowledging the schools that produce such outstanding and talented youngsters, the bank will support 10 of the least privileged schools.
