Singer powers schoolgirls' cricket launch at Kegalle and Kandy today
THE All Island Schoolgirls Cricket will be launched today, making it
the latest in national sports for girls.
Powered by Singer who are the national sponsors for women's cricket.
The program is initiated under the directions of Singer Chairman, Hemaka
Amarasuriya.
The Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka who are conducting the
program for schools will distribute cricket materials to the school and
provide a coach for each province. Three provinces are drawn annually
until all schools are brought under this scheme.
The second phase of this program will be taken to North Central
Province on 18.07.2005 and launched at Public Grounds, Anuradhapura.
Today's launching will be at Kegalle Balika Maha Vidyalaya at 1.00
p.m. for the Sabaragamuwa Province while the Central Province will have
its launch today at 3.00 p.m. at Police Grounds.
Officials from the WCASL, Singer Schools representatives, teams and
directors of sports will participate. |
