Civil society must unite to eradicate drug menace - Public Security Minister

Minister of Buddha Sasana, Public Security, Law and Order and Deputy Minister of defence, Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka said drug addiction and trafficking in the country became more acute and widespread following the introduction of the open economic policies. It has today become one of the gravest threats facing the nation with drug addiction which was confined to the urban areas earlier being spread to the villages as well.

Man detained with hand grenades
