Explosive device defused in Puttalam

An explosive device was defused in Puttalam last afternoon. The foreign-made JR 81 was found near the Post Office around 2.45 pm.

Passersby informed police, who in turn summoned the Bomb Disposal Squad of the Puttalam Army camp. The bomb was taken to an isolated area in Palaviya and defused.
