My stay in Sri Lanka, a very memorable one - Outgoing Egyptian

"MY tenure of Office in Sri Lanka was a very pleasant and memorable
one. Hence I am bidding farewell to all my colleagues and those who were
closely associated with me in extending their full support, with all
good feelings and sweet memories" said the Ambassador of the Republic of
Egypt Dr. Amir Kamal Dessouky in an occasion at Hotel Taj Samudra
accorded by him last Thursday on the eve of completion of his tenure of
Office as Ambassador in Sri Lanka.
Ambassador Dr. Amir Kamal Dessouky said" Let me first extend my
sincere best wishes to the leaders of Sri Lanka. President Chandrika
Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, Minister of
Foreign Affairs Lakshman Kadirgamar and leaders and heads of political
parties whose sincere co-operation has made stay in this country very
pleasant interesting and successful.
They have helped to improve the bilateral relations between Egypt and
Sri Lanka in various fields. In conclusion, he added that his four long
years in Sri Lanka have ended like the blinking of one's eyes and he
must confess that it is rather depressing to say good bye to his sincere
friends.
A memento on behalf of the Diplomatic Corps in Sri Lanka was
presented by Saudi Arabia Ambassador and Dean of the Arts Mohamed Al Ali
to the outgoing Ambassador Dr. Amir Kamal Dessouky at this ceremony.
A farewell reception was hosted by the Egyptian Ambassador in Sri
Lanka Dr. Amir Kamal Dessouky who is to complete his tenure of office in
Colombo, at the hotel Taj Samudra on Thursday. |
