Final fling for Chaminda Vaas
CHAMINDA VAAS makes his final appearance for Worcestershire in
today's Frizzell County Championship Division Two clash against
Leicestershire at Grace Road.
Pace bowler Vaas' contract expires on Sunday and he will be replaced
by Shoaib Akhtar.
Derbyshire bring in Ian Hunter for Nick Walker against Lanc. (London

Priyantha and Dayananda for Japan
FORMER National Captain Lalith Priyantha, Chairman of Coaching and
Development Committee of the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka and
Dayananda Gunathilleka, Patron of the Butterfly Sports Club in Sri Lanka
will participate in the Butterfly coaching camp for coaches in Japan.
This coaching camp is organised by the Tamasu Company Limited and
will be held from July 21 to 24 with the participation of leading
coaches in the world.
Wanderers trounce President's XV 63-7
THE touring Wanderers rugby team put up another powerful performance
to beat the SLRFU President's team by a massive 63 points to 7 points in
their second tour match played at Maitland Crescent yesterday.
This was the second straight victory for the Wanderers team who had
earlier trounced the Western Province team by 56 points to 13 points at
Longden Place a couple of days ago.
The Wanderers team comprising players from Ireland, England and Wales
took a commanding 27 nil lead at half time.
The visitors completely proved their dominance as they ran down as
many as ten tries and converted five of them and also put over a
penalty. The SLRFU President's team managed to score only a solitary
goal. |
