UNP will not take political advantage - GL
THE main Opposition UNP holding a press conference yesterday assured
that they would not take advantage of the situation to topple the
Government, after the JVP's official announcement that they were
quitting the coalition.
UNP spokesman and former Minister Prof. G.L.Peiris told reporters the
controversy over the proposed P-TOMS (Post Tsunami Operational
Management Structure) will not drive them to destabilise the UPFA
government. "We will not take political advantage over the tsunami
deal," he said.
Expressing that the President should take a bold decision and go
ahead with the P-TOMS, Prof. Peiris said the UNP leadership has given
their word to the President of the UNP's stance over this issue. |
