AFC President's Cup soccer : Chathura returns for vital game today

Maduranga who missed the second game of the AFC President's Cup against
Kyrgyzstan due to an injury caused in the first game has been declared
fit for today's game.
His inclusion will strengthen the chances of Sri Lanka's Blue Star
team entering the semis. The game between Cambodia's Hello United and
Blue Stars the final of the preliminary round is scheduled to kick off
at 4 p.m. at Dasarath Stadium. Meanwhile yesterday at the same venue
Nepal qualified for the semis with a nil-all draw against Tajikistan. If
Nepal lost this game they would make Taipei move into semis as they had
a better goal aggregate.
The other group A match played at Halchowsk Stadium saw Chinese
Taipei win after a tough battle. In this game the underdogs Bhutan put
up their best performance to halt the goal hungry Taipeians to only a
single goal. Their solitary goal came in the 39th minute off the boot of
mid-fielder Chiang Shih-Li. |
