Graduates to get internship appointments

The Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition has made arrangements to grant internship appointments to graduates of local universities who have passed the medical degree during the 1997 and 1998 academic years and graduates of foreign medical colleges who have passed the medical degree in terms of the University Act No. 16.

The Ministry in a press release said applications for granting these internship appointments will be entertained at the Medical Research Institute Auditorium, Borella on April 29.

Applications will be accepted from graduates of Peradeniya and Ruhunu universities and foreign medical colleges between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on this day.

While applications from graduates of Colombo, Sri Jayawardenapura, Kelaniya and Jaffna Universities will be accepted between 1 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.

Applicants are requested to bring along the temporary certificate of registration of the Medical Council (photo copy), original of the birth certificate and the NIC with them, the release said.
