An independent committee will be appointed with immediate effect on the directive of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga to look into 11 allegations levelled against the Western Province Chief Minister Reginald Cooray by the UNF from its No confidence motion.

SC grants permission to Bhaila to proceed against SLMC, UNP

The Supreme Court yesterday granted permission to Small and Medium Enterprise Development Deputy Minister Hussein Ahamed Bhaila to proceed against the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and the United National Party in the expulsion case filed by him.
