Kaduwela Wasantha's alleged killers caught

Three underworld leaders who were allegedly involved in the murder of Kaduwela Wasantha and a numher of motor vehicle robberies have been nabbed by the Kosgama Police.

A Police team led by the Kosgama Police OIC IP Susantha Jayawardana had arrested the three on a tip off while they were travelling in a luxurious motor vehicle at Kadugoda. Meanwhile, another man who had accompanied them in the vehicle had fled.

"The suspects are residents of the Nawagamuwa area", Police said, "Two 9 mm pistols that were in their possession were seized.

It was revealed that Kaduwela Wasantha had been murdered by them to take revenge for the murder of another underworld leader by Wasantha.

Police also said that a large number of bullets belonging to Kaduwela Suda's gang who are allegedly involved in many murders have been found inside the car.

The three suspects were travelling from Avissawella to Colombo.
