IDB, Cey-Nor in boat manufacturing project

The Industrial Development Board (IDB) in collaboration with the Cey-Nor Development Foundation Ltd have decided to manufacture boats in Sri Lanka for tsunami affected fishermen. IDB Chairman Dr.Sanath Alahakoon and the Cey-Nor Development Foundation Ltd's Chairman Ajitha Edirisinghe signed the agreement document last week.

The Cey-Nor Development Foundation Ltd will provide raw material and moulders to manufacture the boats while the Technical Department of the IDB will do the manufacturing process. The Cey-Nor Development Foundation Ltd will purchase these manufactured boats from the IDB to supply tsunami affected fishermen islandwide.

In order to implement this project, the IDB will recruit 200 trainers to manufacture the boats while the Cey-Nor Development Foundation Ltd will provide them full time training. After the training period, they will be assigned to the Cey-Nor Development Foundation Ltd.
