INDUSTRIES, Investment Promotion and Tourism Minister, Anura
Bandaranaike said the UPFA which came into being responding to people's
demand is always with the very people and committed to act for their
well-being.
The Minister said so at Mathalana in Attanagalla on
Sunday (27) after making an inspection tour of the development
activities in progress in the area.
Minister Bandaranaike also commissioned Rs. 20 million
worth public utility projects in Kittammahara, Medalandawatta, Thihariya
and Matalana areas.
The Minister was accompanied by Environment and Natural
Resources Minister, A. H. M. Fowzie, Transport Deputy Minister, Lasantha
Alagiyawanna, Provincial Highways Minister, Duleep Wijesekera,
Provincial Councillors, Sunil Wijeratna, Ranjith Rupasinghe and other PS

Anura Bandaranaike said that power hungry opposition
politicos by making use of some sections of the private media are trying
to sabotage the forward march of the UPFA government. Their dreams would
never come true so long as UPFA remains with the people.
It is strong in unity and open to debate and free to
expression, he added.
People have given a massive mandate for the UPFA and we
will prove that we can work for the country's prosperity in the years to
come, he said.
He assured the government will go ahead with the new
economic strategy expressed in the budget for 2005 keeping well in mind
the pledges given to the people and the confidence reposed in the
government by them.

welcome speech while Matalana SLFP branch President Arunashantha
