Prime Minister tells DS to provide facilities to tsunami victims

PRIME MINISTER Mahinda Rajapakse recently told the Ambalangoda
Divisional Secretary and other officials concerned to provide all
facilities given by the government to all tsunami victims of Ambalangoda
area soon.
Prime Minister also gave his telephone number to those
tsunami victims asking them to phone him if they were not provided with
those tsunami benefits by the officials concerned.
He participated at a ceremony organised by the SPC Chief
Minister, Shan Wijayalal de Silva held at Sri Devananda MV to distribute
financial aids to the tune of Rs. 2,000 each to affected families out of
specially allocated funds by the Chief Minister in order to serve
tsunami victims.
Prime Minister also told the politicians participated at
the ceremony to look into the needs of victims daily.
Prime Minister Rajapakse distributed relief cheques for
1009 victims and the total number of recipients amounted to 1,500, the
remaining victims can collect their cheques later meeting authorities of
the Chief Ministry. |
