ASPI records highest ever point


The All Share Price Index (ASPI) recorded its highest ever point yesterday moving up by 11.80 points to close at 1737.45 points while the Milanka Price Index (MPI) also recorded significant growth moving up 8.54 points to close at 2340.05 points.

Sectors that recorded the highest growth for the day were Information Technology (+17.5%), Power & Energy (+4.7%), Land and Property (+4.6%) and Oil Palms (+3.8%) while negative growth was seen in Motors(-2.5%) and Chemical & Pharmaceutical (1.2%) sectors.

A total turnover of Rs 875.9 Mn was recorded during the day with the Health care sector contributing 39.8% to the total turnover.

A total of 7581 trades were concluded during the day. Foreign Investors were net buyers in the market with purchases of Rs.171.4Mn and sales of Rs.60.1Mn.
